Sunday Scroll is a weekly download of whatever caught my eye—no agenda, just a curated mix of thoughts, links, and musings from the past week. Light, digestible, and perfect for the digital hoarder in all of us.
Daily Headlines That Stuck →
(Here’s what you might have missed this week.)
Upcoming Substack Reads →
What I Couldn’t Stop Thinking About → I’ve been preoccupied with the idea of notable figures who were each other’s contemporaries, even if we don’t often think about them existing within the same timeline. Some favorites:
Napoleon Bonaparte, Abraham Lincoln, and Charles Darwin
Oppenheimer and Einstein
Martin Luther King Jr. and Anne Frank
Leonardo da Vinci and Christopher Columbus
Elvis and Eminem
J.R.R. Tolkien and Hitler
Playlist → Charli XCX is back in NYC this week, and I’m still trying to figure out what I’m gonna wear to the show. Also, who do we think she’s bringing out?? Time for a little BRAT refresher!
Artists On My Mind → This weekend was the Dumbo Arts open studio, and my friend Aimee Sy had some works up on display. She’s incredibly talented and a wearer of many hats, one of which is master lamp maker. She’s even done lamp earrings (a New Year’s Eve HIT). Here are a couple of her pieces on display. You can visit her today in Brooklyn at 81 Prospect Street, or see some pieces on display at Zarolat.

A Craigslist cat currently available for adoption; my younger brother is getting this 7-month-old rescue kitten, and it’s the sweetest little thing.
Tracy Anderson Method; I’m looking up class times, cause Hailey, Nora, and I have committed to the bit, that is, sweating in a crowded room as we all flail with hopefully some coordination and minimal direction.
This Social Media Director position at Elle (not for me, but a great job)
The Brendahashtag (idk her government name and I unfortunately don’t care enough to look it up) x Adidas, where did this collab ever sell? I’ve been looking.
Something That Made Me Laugh → Small humans are actually SO funny. I love when my brother sends me videos of my nephews. The wrist twist in this video absolutely had violent intent behind it. Sharing queen.
Looks I Loved → Jacquemus in LA was a banana-butter yellow and cream dream, and I’m here for it all.
Parting Thoughts…
I both hate and am desperately intrigued by all the new members’ clubs that pop up around NYC every year. On one hand, they make me laugh because I thought we stopped paying for friends after graduating from university, but the freelance girl in me knows that a good members club would be highly useful when I move out of the city, but want a workspace… Anyway, the one that’s caught my attention as of late is SAA Brooklyn (in the crux of Bushwick).
I had a lot of fun writing my black Air Force 1 piece last week, so if you haven’t had a chance to read it, take a gander.
Ciara and I went to see Macbeth in Stride at BAM this past week, and it pains me to say just how bad of a time it was. Honestly, one of the worst productions I’ve been to, ever. A total shame, because the cast all seem incredibly talented. I don’t trust that anyone behind the creation of the play has actually read Macbeth, and if you attended not knowing the original story, then I fear you’ve probably left even more confused. I understand how Tyra felt; It is so bad I wanna give you a 0. But that’s not possible, so I give you a 1.
Til next time. See ya on the other side of the week. xxx
